App Quality is the first “pure player” crowd testing platform in Italy and has about 200,000 registered testers worldwide. Founded in a research laboratory of the Politecnico di Milano in 2015, App Quality released its first product in 2016. Its team is currently made up of 15 people but by the end of 2019, there will be 20. During 2020 there will be an investment round which is already being worked on.
This company allows its customers to quickly verify that their applications are as bug-free as possible. “There are two goals that can be achieved – explains the founder Luca Manara – On the one hand you can get digital applications, mobile or web, which are as free of bugs as possible when released, and on the other hand at the same time you can optimize the user experience by developing remote user tests”.
Among the companies with which App Quality works there are also PayPal, Intesa SanPaolo, Unipol Sai and Enel. Enel has recently included its crowd testing into its strategic processes. The goal of Manara and his team is to convince partners to include this method in the processes of development and design of their digital services.
“We are growing year after year by doubling our turnover – he explains – Thanks to these investments we want to integrate more and more with the development teams we work with. We have just released, for instance, the integration to their ticketing system and with the app stores”
Having joined the Fintech District community in June, App Quality is looking for collaborations with developers of its startups to create win-win partnerships and work on the user experience of the fintech products of the future.
In addition to Italy, App Quality is also active in Spain where it offers its services to some local companies. The aim is to boost its presence in this market in order to open a local commercial office by 2020. In the meantime, this startup is extremely active at a global level and has already carried out tests for Moncler in the USA and UK as well as for Canali in South America.
